| Matador was founded in 1989 by Chris Lombardi, who was joined by Gerard Cosloy (Homestead Records) in 1990. The label expanded, and in 1996, a London office was established to service continental Europe. The roster embraces everything from rock to electronic, to hip-hop, with artists such as Yo la Tengo, Cat Power, Cornelius, Arsonists and the Wisdom of Harry. We are not for sale. Our future planes are to continue blowing minds and confounding expectations. |
